The seventh-generation Nissan Z car is 80% new, yet looks extremely familiar with some retro styling that harkens back to the original Z in profile, and Z-32 1990s-inspired taillights. There's plenty of "new" in the engineering and the tech, with added power, improved suspension and stability, and a modern interior with advanced driver and safety technology.
Z Power
The 2023 Z is fitted with a modern
power train and retuned chassis for a smoother ride. The 3-liter twin turbo charged
V6, delivering 400 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, is a big upgrade from the outgoing
non-Nismo model. Z's standard transmission is a close-ratio 6-speed manual with an Exedy
high performance clutch. There is also an option for a 9-speed automatic
transmission with paddle shifters and launch control.
Driver Assistance Tech
The all-new 2023 Nissan Z is imbued with all the latest in
driver assistance technology like adaptive cruise control, front and rear
parking sensors, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-cross traffic
alert to name a few.
Updated Interior
The 2023 Nissan Z is awash in high quality interior materials with color accents. A retro-inspired
analog 3-gauge cluster reads out boost pressure, turbine speed, and voltage.
Not so retro is the 12.3-inch reconfigurable driver instrument cluster and 8-
(standard) or available 9-inch touchscreen infotainment interface with all the
expected connectivity and an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system.
Z Performance Trim
The 2023 Nissan Z performance trim includes 19-inch wheels
with summer tires; upgraded brakes consisting of 14-inch diameter rotors with
four piston aluminum calipers in front and 13.8-inch rotors with two piston
calipers in back; sportier suspension tuning and a limited-slip differential.
