Change. The ability to adapt and grow with it can make or break a company. In the automotive industry, we are in a renaissance period. Great growth and change have brought us low and no emission cars, connectivity features that bring together our cars and our smartphones, and even self-driving vehicles are on the horizon. Now, Nissan stands poised on a new frontier of automotive design: micromobility.
The New York International Auto Show set the stage for Nissan to show off the future of urban driving. This vehicle, dubbed the Nissan New Mobility Concept, is a vehicle designed by the West Coast based Nissan Future Labs. The goal of this concept is to combat the traffic and parking congestion problems that plague major cities such as New York, San Francisco, and Phoenix. These 100 percent electric vehicles boast an impressive range of almost 40 miles on a single charge. Even more impressive is the fact that their compact size allows 3 of these vehicle to park side by side in a standard-sized roadside parking space.
These vehicles are currently undergoing field testing in San Franscisco with Scoot Networks, but it seems clear that Nissan is already ahead of the game when it comes to designing how we'll drive in the future.
