2024 Nissan Titan-Xd Coolant in Mesa, AZ

These signs can point to depleted coolant protection or a cooling-system leak. A pressure test helps separate a service need from a repair need. Check the system only when it is cold; a cooling system is under pressure and hot after running.

• Temperature gauge running higher than usual
• Sweet smell or puddle beneath the front of the vehicle
• Rusty, cloudy, or low coolant in the reservoir

The refill uses the coolant type and concentration the manufacturer specifies for this vehicle. Pressure testing helps identify leaks, while the component inspection looks for visible concerns around the cooling system. The service evaluates both coolant condition and system integrity.

• Drain and refill with manufacturer-specified coolant
• Cooling-system pressure test for leaks
• Inspection of hoses, cap, radiator, and water pump area

That schedule is the reference for replacement timing, rather than a visual check alone. Coolant additives can deplete while the fluid still appears to cool normally. A service visit can test coolant condition between scheduled points and can also pressure test the system for a leak.

• Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule
• Test coolant condition during service visits
• Pressure test if coolant loss or other signs appear

Coolants are not interchangeable, so selecting fluid by appearance can create the wrong match. Color is not a reliable guide to what is in the bottle. A coolant service uses the type and concentration the manufacturer specifies for this vehicle.

• Use the manufacturer-specified coolant type
• Do not treat different coolants as interchangeable
• Do not use color alone to identify coolant

A level that keeps dropping indicates a leak rather than normal consumption and calls for an inspection. The cooling system is under pressure and hot after running, so checking it should be done cold. A pressure test can help identify whether repair is needed.

• Adding coolant does not renew depleted additives
• Repeated level loss points to a possible leak
• Check the system only when it is cold
